Dr. Heather Sorensen
A WORD FROM THE DOCTOR:
Being an optometrist is such a privilege. Each day I come in contact with many special patients, each with the same goal, to have the best vision possible for their entire life. My promise to all my patients is to spend the time needed to ensure I am able to monitor your eye health completely and give you all your options to give you the best vision.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY:
Dr. Sorensen completed her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University and received her Bachelor of Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from Nova Southeastern University. She practiced in small communities in Ohio before moving to Columbus, Ohio and opening a private practice with her husband, Dr. Kevin Sorensen, in 1999. The Doctors sold their Ohio practice to be in Florida full time and took over caring for Brevard Vision Associates and renaming it Coastal VisionCare in 2018.
In addition to practicing general optometry, Dr. Sorensen has special interest in Orthokeratology, difficult contact lens fittings, refractive surgery comanagement, and pediatric examinations. She is passionate about fighting the progression of myopia and has been working with parents and children for almost two decades by providing orthokeratology and other myopic control treatments.

It is such an enjoyable experience having an optometry practice, especially one where I have a great staff to work with and a wonderful partner that I know has the same compassion and concern for patients that I have. My goal is always to meet and exceed your expectations by giving you a thorough examination, having beneficial options and quality products all of which will keep your vision and ocular health the best it can be while you are in my care.
